Kafue Province[edit]

Is Kafue really a province? It is referenced to as "Zambias tenth province", as it really wasnt one. I have only found one web source on the matter (after a quick search): www.visitzambia.co.zm. It states:

"The area is now commonly referred to as Kafue Province, the Tenth Province of Zambia. A Campaign has been ongoing to have the Kafue Province finally recognised after it was deliberately left out when the provincial demarcations where been carried out by the Colonial Government due to manipulations by other groups who didn’t want the Province to be created for their own tribal, self centred and greedy interests.
The Campaign has gained momentum and support as Zambia’s Constitution is been revised to include among other things the recognition of Kafue Province."

Should this province really be listed if it isnt "real"? There should be some kind of explanation at least.

You are right - six months later there are still no references to any new 'Kafue Province'. The times of Zambia doesn't have a single reference to it. It seems to be a campaign by Nkoya people of Kaoma protesting about the lack of development in their area. Rexparry sydney 07:31, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
One year on and still the only reference is the visitzambia site. If anyone was to spot this province it would be Gwillim Law seeing as it's his hobby, but statoids.com certainly doesn't mention such a province. Green Giant 04:06, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think the reference to the campaign for Kafue province should be relegated to a footnote, I think that with only the one reference it doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the lead section. Rexparry sydney 11:46, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Writing in the article[edit]

Well, it seems as though this is one of those "Copy & Paste" Articles, as it is written in the article that "There are nine councils in the province, each of which is headed by an elected representative, called councilor" in the Introduction and in the "Administration" section, meanwhile this article is not meant to talk about "one province"; It is meant to talk about all 10 of them! It is clear that this information was simply copied from one of the "Provinces of Zambia" articles (maybe Central Province) without having a grammar check or even confirming if the information is explained properly! Also, this is supposed to be an article which is "edited every time new information is available" (i.e. "When new districts are created" or "When there is a change in Provincial Ministers"). Since Zambia has had a habit of editing its geographical map frequently since 2011, years (i.e. "as of 2018") need to be mentioned next to each detail such as Population and Area. So, this article as several issues & we need to see how we can fix them. For starters, I have edited "the number of districts each province has". This is my article, and I did not copy and paste anything, but subsequent IP edits went out of control. Ymblanter (talk) 07:23, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
