Wrong image[edit]

The protoporphyrin IX structure is wrong. This structure is the HEM B without the iron atom !!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cianitomas (talkcontribs) 14:23, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reactants and byproducts of synthesis[edit]

The synthesis presumably also takes some oxidizing compound as input (O2?), and yields some byproducts H2O?) For the benefit of non-specialist readers, those should be shown. I could add them to image, if someone told me what they are. --Jorge Stolfi (talk) 01:01, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Even specialist readers would benefit. I revised all of the porphyrin articles a couple of years ago, but apparently I overlooked the stoichiometry. It was not easy to find good sources. I will look again. --Smokefoot (talk) 01:29, 9 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
