Frisch[edit]

Should we incorporate more information about Frisch here, such as her stint at University of Oregon or the National Science Foundation? If we're going to list some bio information for Goldstein, we should probably also do it for Frisch. Does anyone know where we can get access to the old Frisch article? SkipSmith 17:10, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I say we should focus on the incident, not Dr. Frisch as a person. It was a mistake for me to use her name as a section heading. How about "Offensive comments"? Or even "Frisch controversy"? Any ideas? Help me out here, please! CWC 18:53, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I tried "The Frisch Incident" as the section title. How does that look? SkipSmith 22:26, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's much better. Thanks, CWC 03:40, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article now says more about Frisch than about "Obama is a chocolate bar" Goldstein. -- 71.102.129.135 (talk) 21:08, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. Anyway, I've trimmed that section for better article balance. CWC 13:05, 9 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

July 2007[edit]

More events have eventuated, and Jeff G has taken another temporary hiatus from blogging. Details here. I've updated the article. Cheers, CWC 02:47, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why Is This Article Being Trimmed Back So Aggressively to "Stub" Level?[edit]

Please stop taking information out of this article. I can understand your desire to remove a particular phrase that struck you as original research, but taking out all of my edits wholesale because of one phrase is over the line. And, no: you can't simply categorize anything you don't like here as "ad copy" and remove it. Scooge (talk) 06:47, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

the title[edit]

I just noticed the last line of Stanley Green's sign. Has Goldstein said whether that's the source of his title? —Tamfang (talk) 17:49, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: No consensus to move (reasonable goals of clarity and now a third entry make keeping the blog with its DAB token sensible status quo). DMacks (talk) 23:03, 31 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Protein Wisdom (blog)Protein Wisdom – A political blog versus a crazy Londoner. Not much to choose from here, but the status quo of Protein Wisdom as a dab doesn't seem optimal. WP:TWODABS applies, at least in spirit. My slight preference is to simply move the only topic that actually has this name to the base title, but if we really want to say that the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC is the crazy man's phrase, I'm fine redirecting it to Stanley Green with a {{redirect}} hatnote (of course, the blog would use a hatnote if primary, though I'm not sure how it would be phrased). BDD (talk) 08:30, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Question: Was the blog named after the nut philosophy? Note also that Stanley Green is a WP:Featured article and was once featured on the Main Page. It seems entirely possible that the Londoner's philosophy has greater long-term notability than the blog (and it's a pity that Green died before the Internet era – he could have reached more people with his important message if he used a blog instead of a hand-held sign, and maybe he wouldn't have needed to wear the overalls). —BarrelProof (talk) 17:36, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
We don't have any evidence about the source of the blog's name, but it wouldn't surprise me if it were derived from Green. That's not especially important for a primary topic consideration, however. There's the canonical Boston and Boston, Lincolnshire example. Again, I wouldn't oppose Green as primary topic as long as we name one. --BDD (talk) 19:47, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support as per the principle of TWODABS and... I mean... this is something that can be dealt with via hatnotes. Red Slash 05:31, 15 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per WP:TWODABS, which avoids dedicating an entire navigational page to distinctions that can be made in a hatnote. bd2412 T 00:24, 16 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • Note that It's not exactly TWODABS anymore. Now we also have protein design software with the same name, per the dab page. —BarrelProof (talk) 00:45, 16 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The proposal would lead to a misleading, confusing situation. I was confused enough. This blog is neither about protein nor wisdom, and the abstract creative title "Protein Wisdom" needs disambiguation. Prefer Jeff Goldstein's ''Protein Wisdom'' blog. Not convinced that the topic in wikipedia-notable, and even if it is it is far too self-referencing. Unimpressed that Jeff Goldstein redirects here with no content on Goldstein. http://atlas.princeton.edu/proteinwisdom/ unambiguously prevents this blog from being considered "primary". --SmokeyJoe (talk) 01:06, 23 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
