Professional degrees by country - United States[edit]

Editor was clearly not reading the purpose of this list, which is stated as: The use of the term "first-professional" was discontinued by the Department of Education as of 2010–11, when new post-baccalaureate award categories were introduced.[35] Prior to this, first-professional degrees (so defined) were awarded in the following ten fields:[34].

So this is not a list that would be added to

I'm guessing that additions made by IP 89.148.96.229, and undone by Robminchin(thanks), were added back by new user:Forestslake, with the addition of several others.

If no one objects in the next few days, I'll remove the following:

Doctor of Dental Science (D.D.S.) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.)

Doctor of Jurisprudence or Juris Doctor (J.D.)

Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)

Doctor of Optometry (O.D.)

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine/Osteopathy (D.O.)

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)

Doctor of Podiatric Medicine/Podiatry (D.P.M., D.P., or Pod.D.)

Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Master of Hebrew Letters (M.H.L.) or Rabbinical Ordination (Rav)
