Pictures[edit]

Great writeup!! You may want to find some higher quality pictures - I'm sure Preston and Steve can supply some for you. --04:01, 1 February 2006 (UTC)Ddrager

Deletion[edit]

  • I'm a fan, but I really don't think local radio shows should have articles, nor do I think they satisfy notability guidelines. I half-want to nominate this for deletion, and it would probably be deleted by consensus, but it is well-written and extensive so I'll look the other way. AdamBiswanger1 14:47, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No way! Keep it! Its a famous station. Besides it rocks! --66.218.24.36 04:36, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I love these guys. My teacher wrote in to the station. It was regarding a caller who said she was persecuted for listening to the show. Me and my class signed our names in and they read them out loud. --Yancyfry jr 04:40, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You guys rock! rock and roll! --66.218.24.236 06:14, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If it werent for the fact that iTunes has made this not only nation wide, but world wide I'd agree. Agentmage2012 15:10, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"OOOH, Snakes!" - does she reall say this?? making fun of kidd chris show?? lol woo

Umm, is that even English? And for the record, I've never once heard anybody on P&S speak negatively about any other DJ/on-air personality, be it Kidd Chris, Howard Stern, or whomever. Only losers need to sling insults at those they can't beat.  :-D -- 172.191.246.179 (talk) 21:57, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ONE OF THE GREAT THINGS ABOUT WIKIPEDIA IS THAT YOU CAN FIND NEARLY ANYTHING!!! be it a radio show in philly, or some cartoon in japan its probably on wikipedia. The fact that someone would want to delete any article (unless its profane or false) is just beyond me. Eleigh33 20:09, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This show has national listeners and is the #1 show in the 5th largest city in the country, how is that not notable?

Definitely keep it! I always wondered where the "Gadzooks" and the "dirka, dirka, dirka" came from. Wikipedia again came through as a great reference. JamesQMurphy 15:15, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Delete this page. Preston and Steve should only have a page on HACKipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.224.84.149 (talk) 00:29, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This from someone who's only contributions to the page have been vandalism? Yeah, I'll take your suggestions under advisement... -- 172.191.246.179 (talk) 21:57, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Strong keep. As already mentioned, #1 show in the 5th largest city, plus regularly high rankings in iTune downloads from all over the world (see also: http://www.frappr.com/prestonandsteve ). IMNSHO, that makes 'em notable. -- MyrddinEmrys (talk) 09:41, 15 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The station is definately notable, that doesn't make the shows on the station notable though.--Rtphokie (talk) 13:54, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Right, A doesn't always -> B. But as stated above, P&S kicks the pants out of it's local competition, and is listened to far and wide via teh Interwebs. I'd say that's notable.  :-) -- 172.191.246.179 (talk) 21:57, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have added some references and moved some higher profile references into the lead to assert notability, removing the tag. Please note that this article is not currently being discussed for deletion. Maher-shalal-hashbaz (talk) 14:12, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Errors[edit]

"Gadzooks" was derived from Sen. Ted Kennedy, not President Kennedy.

This is not true. Gadzooks WAS derived from JFK exclaiming about a watch that Marylin Monroe gave him. He screamed Gadzooks in exclamation hoping Jackie, his wife, did not see it. It's still a dumb joke though.

I remember them talking about the origin of 'Gadzooks' when they were still Y100. Either Preston or Steve had seen a portrait of Kennedy, and someone had stuck a speech bubble by his mouth that said "Gadzooks". The watch story was much later, and used the word as part of the joke. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.121.83.85 (talk) 06:29, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

One to One-Million[edit]

I just added the Prize Game "One to One-Million", someone may want to edit it for grammer or other changes to make it more suitable for the page.

It's GRAMMAR, with an "A." Just goes to show the retards that follow this horrible garbage posing as a radio show. Iss 19:16, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

shower[edit]

Can someone tell me the origin of the all I did was get out of the shower joke? I've been listening for years but missed that episode. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.168.133.154 (talk) 05:20, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That portion of the episode is available as its own podcast download so you can listen in full, but briefly it was a morning when the crew were discussing an encounter when the police had come into the wrong house, and a caller followed up with a similar story and built it up in such as way that it led listeners to believe he was leading up to a punchline, and then delivered it in such an anti-climatic way that he was mocked the rest of that segment and for days afterward. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 52.129.8.50 (talk) 14:00, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

debut on WMMR[edit]

Please don't change this back to the 16th unless you cite a different source. The newsletter currently cited clearly states they officially debuted on 5/23. Thanks. Maher-shalal-hashbaz (talk) 16:09, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As much as I like P&S ...[edit]

There is quite a bit of content added in here from primary sources (e.g. listening to the show) rather than from secondary sources. I think that P&S is the best thing to hit radio since Bergen and McCarthy, but the primary-sourced material needs to go as not best practice for Wikipedia. Am I going to cull the article? I'll take the positive approach and seek to source material rather than wholesale trimming. However, for those people who have contributed content, please consider sourcing your material from secondary sources and/or removing it ... I've removed content I've added before, and you can to. Section title - Publicity stunt vs. publicity event[edit]

Technically, the section Preston and Steve#Publicity events should be called "publicity stunts" as this is the proper term (or perhaps was the proper term and is no longer?), but this would bring a negative connotation to the material. "Publicity event" feels like a PC alternative to "publicity stunt" ... is there any alternative term which could be used which would not feel as contrived? --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 23:31, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see anything wrong or contrived about "publicity events". "Stunt" carries with it an inappropriate air of insincerity in my view. – ukexpat (talk) 15:38, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
