I think "Prešernov trg" (and obviously any other similar instances) should be translated as "Prešeren Square" (without the possessive). The only case where English retains the possessive that I could find was St Isaac's Square (St Petersburg) and the general convention seems to be to omit it (Tomislav Square, Jelacic Square, Brasov Square, etc.). Patzak is correct. When a feature in Slovenia becomes prominent enough (e.g., Lake Bled, Prešeren Square, etc.), Slovenians readily accept the natural English construction (i.e., Blejsko → Bled, Prešernov → Prešeren, etc.) in English texts. However, many are initially hesitant to do so, resulting in mishmashes like Prešernova Street and Blejski Castle. Doremo (talk) 09:33, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
