Emmy appearance consequences?[edit]

What happened after he appeared at the Emmys? Did he face any penalties or retributions from the Screen Actors Guild for having ignored their boycott? 60.242.36.248 04:45, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Powers Boothe has died[edit]

I included a reference to the verified Twitter account of fellow actor Beau Bridges announcing his death, yet a member reverted the changes citing "no reliable source". Ipedro (talk) 02:16, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This would be the correct thing to do. Twitter is not an authoritative source, and for something of the gravity of someone's death, I think it's a poor idea to jump to the first available source. Let's wait until his manager has come out and said something.DTXBrian (talk) 02:19, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Reports on Powers Boothe's death[edit]

Wikipedia is NOT A NEWSPAPER!
The only information we have, at this point, is information on Twitter. We don't know that Beau Bridges didn't hear the information third party. We need to revert this article back to him being alive until there are suitable confirmed sources.

Namesake[edit]

I don't know where the editor got the information about his being named for his father's best friend who perished in World War II, but it's not in that Guardian obit. The obit does say that it had been edited post-publication, but apparently only to remove inaccurate information about his widow being his second wife, untrue because his only marriage was actually to his high school sweetheart, so whilst he may well have been named for his father's best friend, we should consider that information to be dubious. 20:39, 25 July 2021 (UTC)
