How much history?[edit]

Some information is given back to 1984 (team names) and some back to 1978 (affiliations, parks). For consistency, which should it be? -- Pemilligan (talk) 23:38, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Move page or new page?[edit]

With the team relocating and the new team name to be announced this week, should the page move, as with the change from Prince William Cannons to Potomac Cannons, or should there be a new page, as with the change from Alexandria Dukes to Prince William Pirates? I favor a new page, but I haven't seen that followed as standard in all such relocations. -- Pemilligan (talk) 14:33, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I favor a new page as well. Potomac Nationals would cover the city's team from 1984 to 2019, while the new article (the "Fredericksburg Whatevers") would cover that city's team from 2020. I've tried to follow suit with other recent relocations. Only if the team were staying and simply rebranding should the page be moved. NatureBoyMD (talk) 15:09, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I also support a new page for Fredericksburg Nationals. This isn't simply a move to a new ballpark across town, the team is relocating to a different part of Virginia altogether. -Kudzu1 (talk) 02:39, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

So what I was afraid of happened and someone moved the page without discussion. @NatureBoyMD: do have time to deal with this? I'm a bit busy today. -- Pemilligan (talk) 20:53, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Pemilligan: I moved the page back to Potomac and created a new Fredericksburg page. I also linked back to this discussion on F'burg's talk page. NatureBoyMD (talk) 21:24, 7 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@NatureBoyMD: Thanks! -- Pemilligan (talk) 00:10, 8 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
