Title[edit]

Wikipedia guidelines indicate that capitalization of the title should be positive youth development, per MOS:CAPS: "Philosophies, theories, movements, doctrines, methods, processes, systems of thought and practice, and fields of study are not capitalized" and per WP:NCCAPS: "Do not capitalize the second or subsequent words in an article title, unless the title is a proper name. [...] This convention often also applies within the article body, as there is usually no good reason to use capitals. Outside Wikipedia, and within certain specific fields (such as medicine), the usage of all-capital terms may be a proper way to feature new or important items. However these cases are typically examples of buzzwords, which by capitalization are (improperly) given featured status." Biogeographist (talk) 12:10, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Edit[edit]

I edited the page on Positive youth development as a component of my Global Youth Studies course at Drake University. I worked to include more links to integrate it into the encyclopedia and expand it to have a more worldwide view. I altered some of the organization of the article, added sections on social divisions, and introduced more examples of implementation from around the globe.

Recommendations[edit]

I would recommend that future editors look to expand the implementation section with more global examples (particularly for the sparse European and nonexistent African sections), as well as to adapt the bulleted list of principles in the 'Key Constructs' section into prose and probably incorporate some prose into the American section rather than simply having the bulleted list of organizations. I plan to add more information about other programs that show PYD in the section to "Ethnic minorities in the United States".
