Proposed merge with Portuguese man-of-war[edit]

Extremely short stub that barely serves a purpose. smileguy91talk 22:47, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jellyfish_dermatitis is also a problem. I honestly don't know whether the best course of action is to merge each page into the articles relating to the animals or whether they should be merged into an article relating to dermatitis. Is it possible that sting/venom-induced dermatitis might warrant an article? Someone with specialist subject knowledge should maybe get involved in this discussion. I'd tentatively say "yes" to the proposed merge but other options should be considered too; the ones I mentioned are just possible examples. Seanw11111 (talk) 07:33, 5 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep It'll mature. One day some expert will notice this empty stub and fill it in. It's like laying the groundwork for the experts. In this way, such stubs encourage project improvement. It's on my watch list; put it on yours and we'll see that it doesn't get vandalized. Return here in a couple of years and don't be surprised to find it transformed. • Merge Not it's own topic. This article provides no additional info on its own and should be merged with the Portuguese man-o'-war page. 74.141.50.215 (talk) 17:56, 12 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge. We do not need a stub for every stinging cnidarian. The place for expansion of the medical effects of this species and other medically important species is Jellyfish dermatitis, should an expert be looking for a place to expand, "one day". (and yes, I realize that Portuguese man-o-wars are not true jellyfish, but the stings of swimming cnidarians can and should be in one article rather than a myriad of stubs. --Animalparty-- (talk) 22:37, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
