Height[edit]

What's the height of the bridge towers above average water level? I haven't ever seen a height figure given for this bridge, which is odd, given that it's one of the basic measurements of a bridge. --Criticalthinker (talk) 04:05, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

180 feet (55 m). Imzadi 1979  04:31, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Do you have a link to the source of this information? --Criticalthinker (talk) 12:53, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I already updated the article. It comes from a book by Charles K. Hyde called Historic Highway Bridges of Michigan. Imzadi 1979  13:08, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bridge Design and Operation[edit]

I cleaned up the paragraph about the bridge decks' design and changes in operation after the railroad lines were abandoned. The original text made it sound like the lower deck was converted for road traffic after the railroad stopped operating when in fact the the roadway on both decks was part of the design from the very beginning and the middle position to allow small bost traffic was a mandatory design requirement. I also provided the reference from the MDOT history link. Much of the previous data that was kept was correct, but didn't have a citation. 1.229.130.160 (talk) 08:17, 14 November 2013 (UTC) Corrected a grammatical error. 1.229.130.160 (talk) 06:05, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
