More References[edit]

At one point in the episode, Homer mentioned the different careers that he took from eariler (seasons 2-13[?]) episodes. Wikipedia should add the references/episodes with the listed careers. 20:20, 6 April 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.208.20.76 (talk)

Otto is carrying "Guernica" by Picasso. The painting is referenced in Season 10, Episode 19 - "Mom and Pop Art", so that Otto was able to loot it from somewhere...

NY 1977 blackout[edit]

The riot and crimes of this episode is obviously a reference to the 1977 New York blackout, in which after a blackout the city is a chaos. 1969 (talk) 20:44, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicting message[edit]

"The monster's last line was written during one of the episode's rewrites, but none of the writers on The Simpsons' writing staff has taken credit for it ... Gould considers it to be his favorite joke in any episode he has ever written."04jessops (talk) 08:57, 14 June 2014 (UTC)04jessops[reply]

Further The Sopranos references[edit]

Not only is The Sopranos title sequence parodied, but when the kill squad arrives at Evergreen Terrace, some of the mobsters are modelled after Christopher Moltisanti, Paulie Gualtieri and probably even Silvio Dante. Despite them not speaking any lines, their respective allusions might ne noteworthy. -- WA1TF0R 17:52, 9 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
