Family tree[edit]

That's an unusual family tree. He doesn't appear to be related to anyone. 87.254.72.244 (talk) 23:06, 11 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Coat of arms[edit]

Benedict IX has the same Coat of arms as Innocent III. See:

  • Franz Xaver Seppelt –Klemens Löffler: Papstgeschichte von den Anfängen bis zur Gegenwart. Josef Kösel&Friedrich Pustet, München 1933., page 130, the picture of the Pope and by his Coat of arms (it: stemma, de: Wappen, sl: grb). --Stebunik (talk) 17:18, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Portrait(s)[edit]

I have taken the liberty of removing the presumably late 19th c. picture labelled "official". Adding fanciful images of historical characters produced in a much later period of history adds little of value to the topic at hand. The same goes for the strangely airbrushed version of another 19th c. illustration that is used in the infobox (but which is at least sourced properly). If someone had a picture that is chronologically closer to this pope than 800 years, it would be appreciated. If the popes at that time minted coins, there might be a non-anachronistic depiction of Benedict available, albeit not in the sense of an actual portrait. Sorted in LGBT cats[edit]

Pope Benedict IX was a LGBT Roman Catholic pope. That should be sorted in catsegory.

Scandalous[edit]

To just outright say that Benedict IX his reign was "scandalous" without giving any further explanation and to then assert that he was probably a homosexual, citing a random book from the 90s, doesn't seem to be very objective in my view. But I think we can all agree that Wikipedia has long been reduced to nothing but politically coloured Buzzfeed articles. What an absolute joke 31.201.177.82 (talk) 13:04, 12 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
