The last line of the history is incorrect. It was Pontefract girls’ secondary school, in the centre of town, that was demolished to make way for a Morrison’s supermarket. Pontefract and District Girls’ High School, in Park Lane, near the racecourse, was not demolished, but became New College. Silverjan13 (talk) 11:52, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
