Problems with the article[edit]

I'm seeing a lot of two-and-three sentence paragraphs. I've also thrown in a lot of [citation needed]s where I think information is unsourced. Also, one section uses "summer of 1945" — I was under the impression that we shouldn't use seasonal terms because it's biased to the northern hemisphere. There are tons of other issues here. The lead doesn't adequately summarize the article, there is a lot of unreferenced material (more than what's already tagged), and the entire article is cited mainly by five offline sources (with zero online sources included at all). I think an FARC discussion needs to take place. It's the only solution. Maybe also a discussion about whether articles that got promoted through an FAR should be reviewed before going on the Main Page, if the FAR took places a certain amount of time ago. Although those are two completely separate discussions. –Dream out loud (talk) 03:30, 31 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
