As far as I understand, the word πληθυσμός means "population" and not "multiplication". See, for instance https://el.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CE%A0%CE%BB%CE%B7%CE%B8%CF%85%CF%83%CE%BC%CF%8C%CF%82 and its English version https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Population. Shouldn't this be clarified?
