Clarifications[edit]

It would be helpful if this article clearly expressed the relationship between the Piriform Cortex and the Olfactory Cortex. An article defining a topic should not omit mention of synonyms, if that is what they are. If they are not synonymous, I know they are at least highly overlapping, and would hope the article would spell out exactly what structures are in common and what structures are distinctive. I also have a similar question about the Piriform Cortex and the Piriform Lobe, the Limbic Lobe, the Paralimbic Cortex, the mesocortex and the paleocortex. Some references say or imply that these terms are synonyms, while others say or imply they are different structures. Sure would like to get these all straightened out. The Rhinencephalon could be added to this list, as well.

Incorrect pmid[edit]

I'm not sure how better to get anyone's attention, so here it goes. In reference 2, the hyperlink to pubmed says the pubmed ID is 405872. This is incorrect. The pubmed ID is 4058572. I just came across this. Good luck and hope this helps! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.165.150.79 (talk) 05:39, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I've fixed it. You could actually have edited the article yourself, for what it's worth. Looie496 (talk) 06:43, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Other Animals/Comparative Biology[edit]

3 of the 5 vertebrate families are listed, but birds also have a piriform cortex: https://www.karger.com/Article/Abstract/113635 63.152.34.145 (talk) 20:11, 14 June 2021 (UTC)sustain4people[reply]
