Title change[edit]

This entry is called "Pippinids" but it talks about "Pippinids and Arnulfings" which are also listed in the box on the right. Therefore this article should be called "Pippinids and Arnulfings" or be split into "Pippinids" and "Arnulfings".

I agree. Str1977 (talk) 20:00, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Although some scholars make a distinction, not all do. A perusal of the literature shows clearly that "Pippinids" is often used for Pippin II and his descendants. I don't think splitting the article makes sense. It will lead to too much confusion. Better to deal with the terminology in one place. Srnec (talk) 15:21, 21 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Should the name be changed to Pepinids seeing as Pippen is the German version of the Frankish name Pepin. Netanyahuserious (talk) 03:54, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, both Pippin and Pepin are valid. In any case, the Frankish language was Germanic and closer to German than French. Wikipedia should be consistent within articles but not enforce consistency across articles, as per the usual way of handling legitimate spelling variants.
