Broken ribs[edit]

Only after the final did Majdic agree to go to hospital, where an ultrasound exam revealed scrapes on her back, "a big punch on the muscles" but no broken bones. /Reuters —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.55.90.110 (talk) 10:36, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is actually old news. First exam during the race showed this. Later CT in hospital clearly showed the extent of her injuries. I have added the right source now, but there are even more thorough sources in slovenian, so everything i add is stricktly based on first hand sources. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.143.127.153 (talk) 12:19, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

IOC president remarks about her in the 2010 Winter Olympics[edit]

This is about the IOC president at a breakfast interview session for a small number of international journalists singling out Sweden's Anja Paerson and Slovenia's Petra Majdic as athletes at the 2010 Winter Games who had most impressed him for their character and achievement [1]. I removed this bit and 89.143.127.17 reverted it, and I then removed it again. I think this should not be in this article as it is only the opinion of one person (admittedly the IOC president), but it has no bearing on the events (i.e. it says nothing new about the events). Other people also think what she did was amazing, but that doesn't mean their comments should be included - otherwise this becomes a tribute site. The article refers to "Props to Paerson, Majdic, Ammann, Bilodeau" - props here means simply to give someone their "Proper" and due respect. Aarghdvaark (talk) 15:08, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I edited it back in, taking your previous remarks into account. Based on wikipedia guidelines on criticism and praise I see no reason why it should be excluded (Criticism and praise of the subject should be represented if it is relevant to the subject's notability and can be sourced to reliable secondary sources, and so long as the material is written in a manner that does not overwhelm the article or appear to take sides;). Rogge is president of IOC, he was asked specifically to single out most impressive sportsmen and sportswomen of the Olympics and this is what he did. There are thousands of biographies of living persons on Wikipedia that include opinions on them, so I really don't see a problem there. Please respond back with your view. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.143.127.245 (talk) 20:56, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Opinions are fine (if sourced) if that is all you have. But she's got the Golden Order for Services and Terry Fox Award. Personally I think reporting Rogge's opinion actually diminishes the impact of the rest of the paragraph! p.s. the "show preview" button enables you to compose a page and see what your changes look like before using the "save page" button - unless of course your connection is unreliable and it loses things in between?
