The term "centroid" can be confusing in the definition.[edit]

For triangles, there is no ambiguity, but for polygons with more vertices, the "vertex centroid" is meant: the center of mass where there is only (equal) masses at the vertices, not on the edges and not in the enclosed area. Without explicitly stating, people may infer that the solid centroid version is meant. Ron van den Burg (talk) 10:46, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
