Angus Taylor Reference[edit]

I have removed the link to Angus Taylor because it was linked to the wrong Angus Taylor. The Angus Taylor associated with Swerling is deceased and was a professor of Mathematics at, I believe, UCLA. For information regarding Swerling's advisor, see the following: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/senate/inmemoriam/AngusE.Taylor.htm —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.100.171.250 (talk) 15:46, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for the correction. I have corrected the link from the article. --Jiuguang Wang (talk) 16:00, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Obituary cut-and-paste?[edit]

The "Obituary" section appears to be a direct cut-and-paste from USC's website here. It's not cited, so at the very least that needs to happen. But I also question whether a complete obituary is appropriate material, even for a famous person (which is only true of Swerling in certain circles). If the information must be included, I feel it should be distilled so that only truly important info is retained. IrishCowboy (talk) 14:52, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The copy-pasted USC obit is cut down from the Physics Today obit, of which I have a copy. I am going to work on rewriting the obit material into a more encyclopedic style. Dgorsline (talk) 12:03, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Place of death[edit]

Sources differ. Myrna Oliver [1], writing the obit for the LA Times a few days after the fact, has PS's place of death as Santa Monica. Smith and Goldstein's article is adapted from Oliver, as well as the USC News piece. Simon Golomb, writing several months after the fact, has the place of death as Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles. Apologies, that should be Solomon Golomb. Dgorsline (talk) 12:23, 16 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Technology Service Corporation[edit]

Employees of TSC purchased the company from Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 1993. TSC is now an employee-owned company. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technology_Service_Corporation — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:ED0:4294:7000:9B9:ABD1:6801:83B8 (talk) 08:34, 28 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
