  • With information that has been brought to my attention in the last day (a month after the DYK was posted to the main page), is that it should have been "October 1758" and "11 months". I apologize for this incorrect information and will harder to do better to check my information next time. - NeutralhomerTalk • 00:14, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Germany in 1687?[edit]

"Peter Stephens, was born Peter Steffen in Steinsfurt, Germany on March 3, 1687...."

Germany in 1687 ? Should Steinsfurt be in Swabia instead back then? Or Baden? Or Württemberg? I'm not sure which one, but I don't think Germany was formed as a unified country till 1870. --PFHLai (talk) 22:24, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't know Germany wasn't a country until 1870, my mistake. Go with Baden-Württemberg since that is the state it is in. The source I have just says Steinsfurt, Germany. - NeutralhomerTalk • 22:32, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
After a second look, it is definitely Swabia, which I will change that to, forthwith. - NeutralhomerTalk • 22:51, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wife Maria[edit]

I have from my ancestry.com information that Peters wife Maria Christina Rittenhouse was born in 1695, and that she and Peter married in Germantown, PA on 17 Nov 1712 . Their son Son Lawrence Stephens was born there in 1722. Not sure when they moved back to VA.
