Start[edit]

Good start, but needs more info and some formatting, plus REFERENCES to get to B class. Aboutmovies 06:56, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And by what policy/guideline was this done for? Aboutmovies (talk) 22:15, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If I may. The guideline you are looking for is Wikipedia:External links. In addition, Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of random links. If you want to add content referenced from that article, then if it is a reliable source, by all means go ahead if it adds value. It makes no sense to add every single news article on a given subject to the external links section. Regards. wjematherbigissue 22:38, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm well aware of EL, and this news article passes it, so is there a particular portion it failed? Aboutmovies (talk) 02:39, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
All of it, but specifically, WP:ELNO #1. It would be perfectly acceptable as a reference, but as yet none of the article content requires it. Having reinserted it again, you must also be unaware of WP:BRD. wjematherbigissue 10:09, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, problem is under "What to link" it has many attributes of what can be linked. Specifically:
  • Is the site content proper in the context of the article (yes it provides info on what Jacobsen has been doing the last few years, whereas the article cuts off the last few years)
So EL cuts both ways. But hey, I'll stop trying to make the article better (check the history and you'll see the work I've done such as adding actual RS from third parties and sections), and you can continue to enforce EL while ignoring the whole general poor state of the article that is severely undersourced for a BLP and with people continuing to disregard WP:LEAD (apparently with people we don't discuss anything about them being people unless involves golf). Keep fighting that good fight! Aboutmovies (talk) 10:26, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There is no need for that. My edit summary actively encouraged you to improve the article by adding content referenced from the news piece, but you have chosen not to. That's entirely your choice. wjematherbigissue 10:42, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It was also your choice to remove it, and your choice not to use it yourself to add content, funny thing huh? Aboutmovies (talk) 05:24, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
