I think it was really 1949 that it opened. My mother was in the 7th grade in 1948 and attended Pershing Junior High on University Blvd. as the new school on Braes Blvd. was not open. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.96.36.132 (talk) 15:44, 18 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have knocked this down to C-class. The 'Athletics' section could use expansion, and the "Notable alumni" section could elaborate more on each person. Explain some of their significance and mention how they are related to Pershing, i.e. what years they went to this school. If an editor feels that the article has met all 6 criteria again, feel free to change it.
