Periglacial vs. Proglacial[edit]

How does a periglacial lake differ from a proglacial lake? This article says:

A periglacial lake is one formed where the natural drainage of the topography is obstructed by an ice sheet, ice cap or glacier.

Proglacial lake says:

In geology, a proglacial lake is a lake formed either by the damming action of a moraine or ice dam during the retreat of a melting glacier, or one formed by meltwater trapped against an ice sheet due to isostatic depression of the crust around the ice.

There appears to be some overlap. Is one a subset of the other? Should the articles be merged? Kablammo (talk) 15:49, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Periglaciation[edit]

I recommend that this content be moved to a new page, Periglaciation, with a pointer from Periglacial. It seems more important to have articles be about nouns, not adjectives! User:HopsonRoad 21:52, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
