Cronus[edit]

I am pretty sure the producers decided not to include Cronus in The Lightning Thief because they wanted to save time. I suppose that Luke was punished and sent to Tartarus for stealing Zeus's lightning bolt. There he made a deal with Cronus.

Official name is disputed[edit]

Reliable secondary sources disagree on whether the name of this film is Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, or Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Sea of Monsters. I have placed the alternate name in the lede sentence, and I would ask editors to avoid changing it throughout the article until some definitive choice can be made based on high-quality sources (such as not IMDb, which has user-generated content, but some announcement from the studio, trailers, press packets). Remember that a film's name can change several times for multiple reasons, let's not get ahead of ourselves trying to guess what it is at this stage in the game (production has just started). The film has been released, and all sources have been reporting the official name as "Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters". Do not add alternate names without proper sourcing. Reliable sources required for cast[edit]

Since this film is not yet released, we cannot use the credits as the presumed source for the cast credits. Therefore we will need reliable secondary sources which say an actor/actress has a particular role, even actors who are returning from the first film. Reliable sources required for plot[edit]

Since nobody has seen the film yet, we need to use reliable secondary sources to report any and all plot for the film. Especially since the first film was so markedly different from the first book, we can't assume much of anything about the plot of the film. Sean Bean is not in this film[edit]

I have seen this movie, and I promise you, Sean Bean is not in it. I did read an interview with him a while back, and I can't remember the web address for it, but he said he wasn't going to be in it. Many sites have been wrongly reporting him as being in it, but he is not credited in the billing block and didn't do any press for it, and this is the type of film which needs a star like him to do press. He is not in it. I researched this matter before I came here. In addition to the MTV article posted above, New York Daily News also says, "Gone, too, is the supporting star power of the first film. Sean Bean, Kevin McKidd and Steve Coogan (Zeus, Poseidon and Hades) are discussed, but not seen." Reception[edit]

Jak Fisher and Frogkermit, let's talk about the "Reception" section. Your dispute is not uncommon among film articles. See the WT:FILM discussion here, for example. Per MOS:FILM#Critical response, "Commentary should also be sought from reliable sources for critics' consensus of the film." It can be vague to extrapolate results from Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. For example, looking at Metacritic, there are 20 mixed reviews, 8 negative, and 5 positive. We can report that breakdown in the article body. We can also use commentary such as Rotten Tomatoes' Critics Consensus column here and quote the relevant parts about what critics thought. I think that would be best. Or if we removed the term "positive", "mixed" or "negative like on The Hobbit, Warm Bodies and Man of Steel Page, so as to avoid the confusion that appeared and those pages and here. Thanks for the advice. - Jak Fisher (talk)
Can I just point out that I have only edited this page to 'mixed to negative reception' once, so I find it absurd that I have received a long paragraph from Jak Fisher, claiming I am being bias and warning me about the 3RR rule and warning that I could be blocked. These actions are for someone who repeatedly editing against consensus without giving any justification, or an edit war. I'm not going to hold anyone to blame about conduct. Let's just focus on content. Jak, I don't think we should remove the terms if we can source them accurately. If there is conflicting commentary about the critics' consensus, we can combine it all. The Critics Consensus column has commentary that we can use as a step toward that, and we can mention how Metacritic broke down its sample of reviews. A couple of sourced statements as well as a broader discussion of using ranges such as "mixed to positive" and "mixed to negative have been discussed here and here, and has been agreed that these ranges should not be used any more, which I think is very relevant to this topic. There is a lot of unsourced speculation being inserted regarding the third Percy Jackson film. This is not permitted. Reliable secondary sources must be cited for all assertions, and reports marked as "speculation" or "rumor" or such are not even acceptable from those sources. I would be okay with using Boxoffice.com here. Box Office Mojo has been a bit iffy in terms of being able to calculate foreign box office. I just put the BOM by-country table in Excel, and apparently the sum is $120.8 million, where the claimed overall total is $131.3 million. It's getting to be a pretty common inconsistency, I think.
