Does adjusting the formatting of a table require citing sources???

A table in this article looked like this:

I changed it so that it looked like this:

This did not alter the information in the table but made the formatting neater. Notice that the leftmost the column of "equals" signs is now vertically aligned and there's a bit more space between lines.

But User:Epinoia reverted it with this summary:

you might be right, but you will have to cite sources to support a change like this

My apologies if I misread your edit - it appeared as if you were changing the math, not just the formatting - if I am mistaken please re-instate your edit - cheers - Epinoia (talk) 01:47, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
