Could some interested person please go over to the page listed above and make the entry on Peel Cathedral comply with the other entries, so that the list pertaining to this cathedral links to the cathedral's article. This includes fixing the heading. Put the date into the sentence that you write in order to create the link.

NOTE: In the context of an article, you cannot link a heading, as I have done on this talk page, because it doesn't comply with the MOS. So what was done with the original entries was that every single cathedral had a short sentence, in which the name of the Cathedral is linked e.g. "Organists at Barchester Cathedral have included Septimus Harding." I checked the coordinates given on the article page and they appear to be correct according to the Mapquest latitude and longitude and as displayed on Bing maps. I am not sure where you think the information is in error. Dabbler (talk) 15:33, 16 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. The coordinates in the article are correct, and there is no address and telephone number in the article. I believe you are noting errors in the Google Knowledge Graph—the box that shows up on the right side of the initial page of search results for "Peel Cathedral". We at Wikipedia have no connection with that; you'll have to take the matter up with Google. (Note that there is a "Feedback" link at the bottom of the box there.) Which building is which?[edit]

The building fell into ruin in the 18th century. After a considerable period of debate over who owned the ruins and site, it was decided not to rebuild that cathedral. The present building was constructed in 1879–84 to replace St Peter's Church in Peel's market place.[6] In 1895, the bishop consecrated his chapel at the bishop's palace as pro-cathedral and instituted a chapter of canons with himself as Dean; by 1960, St Nicholas' chapel was still pro-cathedral (or "Cathedral Chapel").[7] Bishopscourt's sale in 1976 left the diocese without a cathedral, and forced the issue of choosing a new cathedral; after public consultation,[8] Kirk German Parish Church was so designated, and officially made the cathedral in a service on All Saints' Day (1 November 1980).[9]

We have a set of buildings referred to:

  • A = the original building in the grounds of the castle, which fell into ruin
  • B = "the present building" which was built in 1879-84, to replace C
  • C = St Peter's Church in the market place, which was (presumably) pulled down to build B
  • D = the chapel at the Bishop's palace (and the palace was presumably called Bishopscourt)
  • E = St Nicholas's chapel, which might be the same as D
  • F = Kirk German Parish Church, which was made the cathedral in 1980

Is B the cathedral we're talking about? Or is F? Or are B and F the same building? I am confused. Marnanel (talk) 18:15, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
