American?[edit]

As he was never a citizen and entered the country illegally, should he really be categorized as an 'American?' (71.60.241.250 (talk) 03:04, 22 January 2014 (UTC))[reply]

The article characterizes him as an "Italian-American mobster" and says "He became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1928" and "his citizenship was revoked in 1957, after the FBI discovered he had entered the country illegally under an assumed name. A deportation order was overturned. Since he is characterized as a mobster, and not a citizen, and he resided in the country for much of his life, calling him "Italian-American" is fair and reasonable. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 03:31, 19 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fall guy[edit]

" It was decided Nitti was to take the fall for them all." For what? Who filed the charges? Where? Trekphiler 07:32, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article on Frank Nitti explains why the Chicago Outfit wanted Nitti to go to jail for them.

Also, there is a lot of material at the bottom of this article that is totally unincorporated - it looks like a cut and paste dump.Rogermx 03:21, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I tried but it got reverted, which is why I added a cleanup tag.70.41.111.24 18:55, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
In fact, the text at the bottom of the article was taken directly from AmericanMafia.com - specifically http://americanmafia.com/Feature_Articles_137.html. I didn't see any thing copyright wise to indicate what the copyright status of the text is, so I'm adding the Copypaste template to the article for now and took off the cleanup tage.70.41.111.24 19:20, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clean up[edit]

I made several edits today:

  • per WP:MOS, there is no reason to boldface nicknames
  • spell out "aka" for people not fmailiar with this acronym
  • remove repeated links per WP:OVERLINK
  • quotations are not italicized in Wikipedia
  • remove datelinks per MOS:SYL
  • reined in the excessive linking of nicknames -- please have pity on the reader
