Inconsistent about beating or shooting[edit]

The sources of this article indicate that the underlying controversy leading to this riot was the alleged beating and shooting of alleged drug dealer Jose “Kiko” Garcia by NYPC officer Michael O'Keefe. It is disingenuous, if not misleading, to say that Garcia was subjected to a beating by "a police officer" and not mentioned he was subsequently shot and killed by Michael O'Keefe in one paragraph and then omit to mention that the "man" that Michael O'Keefe, was "... cleared by a grand for his involvement in the shooting death of ..." was Garcia. While WP:BLP1E might have applied to O'Keefe for the shooting, once he spoke to the crowd at the riot WP:BLP2E applies and he is no longer a low profile person, so therefore should not remain anonymous. The same cloak of low profile is also removed from Garcia, because he is deceased. While his family may remain low profile, their lawsuit and visit to the mayor's mansion means Garcia does not, since he is deceased. Being precise about the players and incidents they are involved in allows readers to draw their own conclusions; otherwise the article reads like a cover-up or spin. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 11:07, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
