'East' Indian[edit]

Hi!

Just noticed the use of the phrase East Indian (one I noticed among people in my time in Vancouver, doubtless the result of not learning the term First Nations when referring to the native peoples of Canada...)

To clarify for those outside North America - for whom the thought of the Punjab being in eastern India would sound a bit odd - I altered the term to Indian.

Well, Indian should be fine (or citizen of the Republic of India?) The terms First Peoples, First Nations (or in the US case, Native Americans) should be promoted ahead of the term 'Indian' when referring to the indigenous peopes of the Western Hemisphere, otherwise we are perpetuating the geographical errors of the 15-16th century European explorers in the Americas... You're correct, Nerroth: the term "Indian" should be fine...but, even though the user population of Wikipedia is international, it is predominantly American (aka United States) and Americans are in general terribly geographically ignorant. name meaning[edit]

I would have thought her name to actually mean "supreme lord (and not goddess), princess", because "parminder" would be "paramendra" in Sanskrit...--Grammatical error 16:32, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

bit of a promotional piece[edit]

This article reads like a personal promotion for ms. Nagra. An editor named "Naresuan" apparently appeared on 29 September 2004, and except for four minor edits to the Lexus article, almost exclusively edited this article up to 12 August 2005... Most of the current format seems to originate from this person. Perhaps an overzealous agent, manager or family member. Needs a major rewrite, proper sourcing and probably requires a fair bit of removing of the 'fuzzy' PR'ish language to bring it up to wikipedia standards. -- MiG (talk) 20:49, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Currently stars" in the first paragraph should be removed or changed[edit]

Today's edits[edit]

This article has been tagged for years without any of the specific, requested citations being added. It is irresponsible that uncited claims of a personal nature have been left up for so long. As the years-old tag at the head of this article demonstrates, this article has been in gross violation of Wikipedia's core policies about biographies of living people. I've just commented-out some of the more egregious violative material here, but WP:BLP says it can simply be removed. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:11, 28 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
