Skiing vs. ski[edit]

I added content to this article using the common and legitimate term "skiing instructor." Another editor has changed this usage twice to "ski instructor," but the original phrase required no "correction". It is established Wikipedia policy that "it is important to respect the work and ideas of your fellow contributors," which includes not imposing "corrections" where none are needed, just because an editor personally dislikes another's choice of phrase.

I have skied in different parts of the world, have worked in the skiing and associated industries, lived in a ski resort for years, and have spoken with locals and visitors from all over the world. The phrases "skiing instructor" and "ski instructor" are used interchangeably, and correctly.

Online, here is an American describing himself as a professional "skiing instructor"; here is a New Zealander website describing "skiing instructor jobs"; and here is a Canadian website using both terms "ski instructor" and "skiing instructor" interchangeably. — O'Dea (talk) 06:40, 25 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
