Name variations[edit]

Why spell out the name variations spelled in such detail? Precisely because–over more than five centuries, in more than half a dozen languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, Ladino, Moroccan Arabic, Dutch, Turkish, Egyptian Arabic, Hebrew)–Wikipedia already has multiple spellings listed separately–and this entry will help people realize how many biographies are related. Please let it stand.

Portuguese-Spanish intermarriage[edit]

The longest single work on the Pallache family – A Man of Three Worlds: Samuel Pallache, a Moroccan Jew in Catholic and Protestant Europe by Mercedes García-Arenal and Gerard Wiegers states that intermarriage did not occur among the early days of the Pallache family – and the new finding stated herein has already come to their attention. The finding is completely factual, as it cites direct sources from the Beth Haim cemetery. In short, this paragraph is a great service to anyone who is researching this family. Please let it stand.

Scholarship (response to "Albeider" deletions)[edit]

For "Albeider" et al. who like to delete "unproven" or "wrong" viewpoints, please note that I have restored the scholarly viewpoints you deleted. You may believe "The Pallache were never exiled to Amsterdam. They came to Amsterdam from Morocco" and you may be 100% correct about that – but there are published scholars who disagree – and there is no harm is citing them. Given the overall narrative presented in the "Pallache family" evidence, I myself agree with you, but, again, if scholars differ, it is good practice to present multiple viewpoints unless there is in fact 100% evidence. Should you endeavor to pursue this issue and prove it 100%, you would be doing all those interested in this entry a great service. Aboudaqn (talk) 18:43, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
