  • The link is fine. This is a problem with maru's bot parsing urls embedded in templates with no space between the url and the next pipe. Snottygobble 04:44, 27 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

More detail[edit]

After all his years... and after finding the Gold at Kalgoorlie did Paddy finally have it made? Did he die wealthy?

one would think this would be a key point of interest to readers. the article notes he received praise and commemoration civically. does anyone have access to information such as biographical information on Hannon that could shed light on his financial fortunes? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.115.191.148 (talk) 17:19, 17 October 2020 (UTC) P.S. the article should not make any baseless assumptions but it seems likely he died without much money. He was given a pension, kept working until he was 70, and moved in with relatives when he retired. If he had gotten rich off his find one would suspect he would have retired younger and had his own home to live in without need for a pension. But even if he died broke that doesn't mean he never got any money; for all we know he was well paid and then lost it gambling or on bad investments.[reply]
