PODS (company)PODS — PODS is the registered name of the company. Similar companies do not use the (company) after their title. Twalters82 (talk) 14:18, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • PODSpods - The category for PODS could be shifted to pods allowing users to see other references to pods and leave the PODS for the company.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Twalters82 (talkcontribs) 14:18, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as currently titled The PODS page is a Disambiguation page at the moment - how would you propose we deal with that page? Using pods (lower case) merely redirects to this page anyway. As there are at least 3 articles which would realistically use all-caps spelling (this company, Pipeline Open Data Standard and Palm OS Development Suite) which one would be the most notable which would deserve the PODS article? Originally this article was named PODS®, which I moved to the current title, as I didn't think that this company was more notable than the other uses. Both this company and Pipeline Open Data Standard have been around since 1998. I should point out, however, that Twalters82 who has started this discussion is the page creator. I feel that this company is no more notable than the other uses, and the PODS page should remain the disamb page. -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 16:54, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as is. This article does not take precedence over a disambiguation page. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 21:31, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Do not move There is no primary topic for PODS. PODS should remain as the disambiguation page. ~~ GB fan ~~ talk 21:38, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep as is per above arguments. ɠu¹ɖяy¤ • ¢  21:41, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose And PODS should redirect to POD, not here. YeshuaDavidTalk • 16:36, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • OpposePODS (company) is the name of the page, not the name of the company. Because "PODS" is ambiguous, the page name has a parenthetical disambiguator. This is normal. --Una Smith (talk) 05:38, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User:Twalters82[edit]

User:Twalters82 Clearly has a Conflict of Interest by constantly treating this article as a form of advertising for his company. Once admins stamp on that then the edit war will be over. Pip Pip 86.139.84.237 (talk) 03:52, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Being a COI doesn't mean that you can't ever get to edit this article. I'm watching this article, and everything on there is well sourced and neutral. Do you have any complaints about specific text in the article that you think reads like an advertisement? If you can give us specific examples in the current version, then we can discuss changes. By the way, this also doesn't give you the right to break the image on the page. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 04:15, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just as a follow-up, Twalters announced here that he has no formal association with the company, and is not a COI. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 16:41, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Featured appearence of PODS in a 3d virtual world game.[edit]

Last year or so I stumbled upon a futuristic 3d-virtual world online game that featured PODS as an integrated element of the game. My educated guess (I think they did disclose the information)is that the designers or hosts of the game were somehow partnered with the company and decided this would be an immersive advertising solution. I'm currently searching the web for the name of the game and a description of the PODS element of the game so that perhaps I may return and post it here. Unfortunately it may be painstaking for me because I do not currently have access to my bookmarks on my other pc where I most certainly have stored a reference to the game. IF anyone else knows of this feel free to post more information on that so that the wiki can be updated with a section noting this info. ie a "pop culture" or "featured in" section. It's just too progressive to leave out that kind of information.69.217.122.23 (talk) 01:12, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Er, that would probably not be acceptable on here, per WP:TRIVIA. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 01:18, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well I'll let everyone be the judge of that, I'm just going to supply the information. Which I did manage to find.no thanks to google or any other search engine. ;) this is the site. http://rise.unistellar.com/ I find this signifacant because it seems to be a growing trend in business to create functional representations of their companies in 3/d chat cyberspace. There are companies creating their own islands on Secondlife and even government agencies have hosted meetings and exhibitions in "SL". In the case of PODS wiki, It might be significant if the business relationship with this online persistent "game" goes any further than a remotely affiliated partnership as would be in the case that if it were say a partially owned subsidiary of the company. A passing browse of the website reveals that a relationship obviously exists. The only question is what is its nature and extent. I don't know when if ever I will be willing and able to do any digging on this myself but I post the information so others who would be interested might take the time and steps to do some digging. of their own.67.175.142.237 (talk) 20:19, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Page as Brand[edit]

It was recently brought to our attention that the page for PODS Moving & Storage was flagged for being advertorial. Recognizing it's not recommended that the brand itself makes edit suggestions to its own page, we'd like editor suggestions on how to remediate the issue. We're more than happy to comply with the site's guidelines, as long as they're brand appropriate and accurate. Thank you.

Trent Brock PODS (talk) 20:53, 1 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Trent Brock PODS: You've got two things backwards:
The purpose for your account is to make suggestions, not ask for them (there's no point in you asking for them since you should not edit the article).
Our policies and guidelines are more important than what your company considers "brand appropriate".

Request edit on 24 January 2021[edit]

Suggest changing a sentence to correct and update it, with several sources to support the proposed change.

  • What I think should be changed:

Current sentence: Between 2005 and August 2009, PODS service expanded to include 48 states, as well as Australia and Canada. Suggested change sentence to: PODS serves 46 states, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.

  • Why it should be changed:

the number 48 is incorrect. Addition of the United Kingdom.

  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button):
