Death toll[edit]

BBC on June 9 said toll revised downward from 50 to "at least 40." (Reuters on June 8 put toll at only 22.) – Sca (talk) 14:47, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The 22 figure comes from an early estimate by government agencies, they revised that today to at least 40.[1][2] Dunutubble (talk) (Contributions) 19:14, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Dunutubble and Sca: They say more than 80 were killed.[1] Can you also verify and update it? 99.165.88.9 (talk) 00:13, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
they said more than 80 "feared" dead not officially feared but the official count was like 40 something Dubstar44 (talk) 00:15, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yet "more than 80" figure came from unnamed source knowledgeable about the incident. It say "A source with direct knowledge of the investigation said the bodies of 82 victims were in a local morgue". I think it needs to be mentioned. 99.165.88.9 (talk) 01:05, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In that case I agree with IP on this one. The 80 statement should still be attributed to the author as the death toll still seems unclear. Dunutubble (talk) (Contributions) 02:37, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nope. A single unnamed, unofficial source isn't news or encyclopedic prose. -- Sca (talk) 12:38, 12 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There is no policy which say that only the figures from officials should be mentioned. If a reliable source like ABC is mentioning an estimate without doubting over it then we are also allowed to mention it. 99.165.88.9 (talk) 00:57, 13 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
