In the genus Otala there are 2 species? Is this suposed to be a serious information? What about Otala depageana, O. freydieri, lucasii,etc,etc...? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.174.37.193 (talk) 13:20, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, there is not written that there are only 2 species. If you are familiar with the subject, feel free to expand the article with references. --Snek01 (talk) 16:06, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply. Well, it only mentions 2 species, as far as I can read. If it doesn´t mention that´s only 2 species, it also doesn´t deny it... References are quite abundant in internet ( google for example), it aren´t hidden in libraries, about different Otala species. Otala lactea are highly polymorphic, but there are some species that are easy to distinguish from either O. lactea or O. punctata. Morocco is a country on which it ocurred a nice SPECIES radiation from a primitive Otala genus.

Is quite easy to find informations about other Otala species, but here it´s a go about O. freydieri for example:

If you have problems about Systematics understanding please let me know and I´ll be all glad to help. I like to share but also to learn. If you don´t feel confortable with this kind of information, please don´t feel obliged to open a wikipedia page about it.

with respect,

G. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.174.37.201 (talk) 00:01, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually not only in Morocco there are different Otala species also in POrtugal and possibly in Spain. I´m producing an article about new species found in South Portugal. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.174.37.213 (talk) 20:45, 8 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
