Birth Year of Anthon Günther[edit]

I have corrected the birth year of Anthon Günther from 1603 to 1583. 1603 was the year he succeeded his father Johann VII at which point he was age 20. link to German Wikipedia entry --Timetrial (talk) 02:40, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is no dash in lemmata[edit]

The move to Ostfriesen/Alt-Oldenburger has a dash in the lemma. That means Alt-Oldenburger is a sub-page of Ostfriesen. It's wrong wiki syntax. Comment! --Flammingo^Hey 19:23, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The slash doesn't seem to hurt searches. But nonetheless, if it's wreaking havoc with the server, or is an MOS problem, not a big deal to replace the slash with "and". The bigger problem was adding (breed) to the move title, as that isn't the naming conventions used in WPEQ nor is any parenthetical necessary for disambiguation purposes. (If we MUST have a parenthetical, we use (horse), horse, or (horse breed).) Also, whenever someone moves an article, it's also their responsibility to fix all the incoming links, in spite of membership and activity, there are actually only three editors at WPEQ who do a significant amount of work here and we don't have the time to do all of this at the moment. So if you want to do a move to Ostfriesen and Alt-Oldenburger AND fix all the incoming links (there's only about 25 or so), go for it. Oh and fix the dab at East Frisia Montanabw^(talk) 21:31, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are two regions in Germany called "Oldenburg" which have a distinct history.[edit]

"Oldenburg in Oldenburg" is the one where this breed of horses originated. It does not and never has extend all the way up to Denmark. It also has never been Danish.

The author must have confused "Oldenburg in Oldenburg" with "Oldenburg in Holstein", which is indeed a region in the current state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is to the east in Schleswig-Holstein. Yet even this region was not Danish. The only region disputed and handed back and forth between Germany and Denmark was the region called Schleswig.

Please, edit this part of out of the article. The faulty history has nothing to do with the breed of the Oldenburger horse. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.145.136.79 (talk) 18:07, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps better to just edit the links so they go to the correct region. The "Alt-Oldenburger" is not the same as the modern Oldenburger warmblood; here the article is about two closely related breeds from the same general region. Montanabw^(talk) 07:10, 31 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
