The castle also featured a suite for use by the king on completion in 1809[edit]

This must be vandalism - 1809? 92.29.80.215 (talk) 11:38, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion...[edit]

I've gone through and given the article a bit of an expansion and a thorough scrub for references etc. I've also found a plan of the castle, and added that in. It will probably need a copy-edit check over though. Hchc2009 (talk) 10:14, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Leaving this here for later[edit]

Commons has a rather nice map of the area around Orford which might be useful here, not least for its aesthetic value. Richard Nevell (talk) 15:10, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A crop of just the area of the town itself might also work quite well - possibly better actually. I think the map is probably already used on some other local articles - Aldeburgh maybe? Possibly the River Alde/Ore??
e2a: a photo gallery might turn out to be a useful idea on this article btw. I share your concern about too many images. Blue Square Thing (talk) 16:11, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It's used in the articles for Orford and the River Ore, so handy for the surrounding area. Usefulness here depends on how it's used; for showing the changing landscape it's got some value but that might need to be developed a bit in the article. I quite like galleries when they're well put together. It's going to be an interesting task to fit them in! Richard Nevell (talk) 16:48, 28 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Lead photo[edit]

The castle in October 2009 (left) and February 2023 (right)

With the castle's new render, a new lead photo in-line with how the castle appears now may be more suitable. My photo from the other day isn't as inspiring as I'd hoped (there was actually sun earlier in the day) so I'm leaving it here for now. Richard Nevell (talk) 20:13, 4 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
