Southwestern Front[edit]

Good job on the Order of Battle.

Reorganized Southwestern Front a little to reflect the fact that several Mechanized Corps were transferred on the evening of June 22nd from the Front command to subordinate armies for the Battle of Brody Counterattack. As well, 8th Mechanized was subordinated to the 6th Army, from the 26th Army.

Assumption is that all were officially transferred at the same time, as per Ryabyshev:[1]

"At 2040 hours on June 22, commander of the South-Western Front Colonel General M.P. Kirponos ordered the Corps to advance into the Kurovice-Vinniki sector and place itself under the command of the 6th Army. By 1200 hours the next day some of the tanks have reached their objective. However as the main part of the Corps was approaching its designated positions, commander of the 6th Army Lieutenant General N.I. Muzychenko issued a new set of orders: the Corps was now to take position in the woods southwest of Javorov, and on June 24th to launch an attack together with units of the 6th Rifle Corps with the aim of throwing the enemy back across the border."

(Note: I thought this would be more useful than indicating that 9th Mechanized, 15th Mechanized, 19th Mechanized were actually with the Front on June 22nd, and that the 8th Mechanized was with 26th.)

As I've stated at Talk:Operation Barbarossa order of battle as well, there should only be one article in main space. I suggest you move you're suggested version to a user page, and let me comment on it there. LCU ActivelyDisinterested transmission °co-ords° 15:45, 27 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
