Launch[edit]

"launched" indicates that it has already happened, maybe "to be launched" or something? -Ottoo —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.245.36.123 (talk) 19:18, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

We have a problem.[edit]

All of the television listings providers have DHC programming continuing on the channel past noon January 1, 2011. Has there been some sort of postponement that hasn't been posted here yet? J. Myrle Fuller (talk) 19:17, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Update: Never mind. OWN has now updated with the new program schedule.J. Myrle Fuller (talk) 22:31, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Opening day[edit]

We should have the opening day scheduel on the page, and if possible any ratings/reception/viewership information which can be found.

I'm sorry for making 2 move requests in one section and screwing it up, but this article really needs to be moved to one or the other (I prefer Oprah Winfrey Network). 68.44.179.54 (talk) 00:54, 6 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV[edit]

The sections listing the programs on the network need attention in accordance with the message - I have commenced the process.--Soulparadox 00:21, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

Report that Oprah was 'fired'[edit]

The Web rumor that Oprah was 'fired' has been added to the article. The only citation is the Christian Post (http://global.christianpost.com/news/oprah-winfrey-reportedly-fired-interviews-paris-jackson-and-rapper-50-cent-76166/). But the source for this article is the National Enquirer, which is unfortunately not a reliable source.

For this reason, this brief and possibly misleading statement about a living person must be deleted from Wikipedia until it is confirmed. I will not do it, for I do not wish to be the center of a controversy, but WP guidelines are clear. David Spector (user/talk) 23:41, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A recent listing of articles concerning Oprah by the New York Times says nothing concerning her 'being fired'. The claim has been removed, thanks. David Spector (user/talk) 20:38, 7 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Copyediting for a college course (please do not edit)[edit]

I have selected this entry to edit for a Professional Editing course and will complete full copyediting (and possibly mild comprehensive editing for clarity and proper syntax) of the entry within the next two weeks. It would be very much appreciated if it could be left untouched during that time. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hkmahaffey (talkcontribs) 13:32, 26 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oprah Winfrey Network (U.S. TV channel)Oprah Winfrey Network – Unneeded disambiguation. U.S. version of a multinational brand active in only one other country. The U.S. version is the primary topic, and the Canadian version can just be a hatnote link. ViperSnake151  Talk  06:11, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support unnecessary per nom.-TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 13:51, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, per nom. The template is already at this visible title, and then there's this, List of programs broadcast by Oprah Winfrey Network (U.S. TV channel), to play with if the change is made. Randy Kryn (talk) 18:31, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Per nom, plus supported by the fact that the Canadian version is basically a franchise/outlet of a chain and would not qualify for a separate article (per WP:CHAIN) except for the fact that it replaced other "formats"/branding (Canadian Learning Television and Viva) on that channel. Spshu (talk) 21:02, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, precisely per nom. bd2412 T 23:30, 10 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Split - Somewhat covered in WP:NCBC, we can distinguish between the corporate entity (aka parent) of the two channels. Oprah Winfrey Network should contain general information on the network, the executive and corporate structure, history, and summary style info about channel articles. Oprah Winfrey Network (U.S. TV channel) should remain and present information about specific about the US programming, channel numbers on various providers, etc. -- Netoholic @ 22:50, 11 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. The US channel is the clear PRIMARYTOPIC for this title; Spshu is entirely correct that the Canadian channel's prior history as CLT/Viva is largely the only reason it has a separate article at all, instead of just having its very minor programming differences dispatched with a subsection in the US channel's article. And I'm saying this as a Canadian. Bearcat (talk) 20:59, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
