Wow! You guys are fast!

I've added several things over the span of 4-5 edits, cleaned up words and grammar a bit, and changed the stubs. It'd be nice if someone could tidy this article up so it looks more professional and not just like one big section without section breaks.--Resident Lune 21:08, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Scandal Classification?[edit]

Should we expand on this? Regarding the major players of the scandal and the effect it has had on Wayne Gretzky's reputation? Jack Cox 22:58, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So this is about games being rigged, rather than the gambling operation being illegal? Or is it both? The article is maybe a little too dependent on the reader knowing the context, particularly local gambling laws.
This is knee-jerk reaction so far. Gretzky's getting tarred for having been aware of his wife's behaviour; it strikes me as absurd. Let's see where everyone stands when the dust settles. --Llewdor 23:13, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The problem isn't so much that Gretzky knew about his wife's behaviour, as much as it is that he was caught on wiretaps allegedly speaking about this gambling ring and being worried about his wife's involvement despite the fact that he said within the first one to two days that he knew absolutely nothing about this, or that his wife was involved. But I do agree we should wait a little longer before expanding on Operation Slapshot. Someone could possibly add the fact that Gary Bettman and the NHL has hired former head Unabomber prosecutor Robert Cleary, but I'm torn on if that should be in an entirely different article, since the NHL's internal investigation is seperate of this operation.--Resident Lune 03:51, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Update tag[edit]

This article hasn't been updated in several years, so the reference to returning in Feburary is unclear. There is also no mention of the outcome for other people named, including Jones. GaryColemanFan (talk) 18:57, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
