School Records[edit]

Alex: You're probably right. I'm an alumna of OHS, graduating in '99. I'll join the WikiAlabama project and work on this page shortly. Certainly it isn't important to the posterity of the school that Ovations is "the bomb" and "practically better than the Auburn Varsity Singers." Ceramufary (talk) 17:57, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:SYNTH applies to combining material from multiple sources to reach a conclusion. The section in question doesn't combine multiple sources, but uses only one, the ALSDE AYP report. I did perform perform some routine calculations on that data set, so WP:CALC would apply, not WP:SYNTH. --Lissoy (talk) 21:36, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes SYNTH does say that, but more completely it states "Do not combine material from multiple sources to reach or imply a conclusion not explicitly stated by any of the sources." In this case you are making statements not explicitly stated so consequently the change fails to meet the SYNTH guideline and the analysis is beyond simple calculations and so fails the guideline of CALC.
