  • The breadcrumb etymology is highly unlikey. Similar words exist in other Germanic languages, e.g. Pfefferkuchen in German and Pepparkaka in Swedish. All refer to the pastry that is gingerbread in English. None of those are made by using leftovers. --Spades (talk) 01:04, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
