Proposed merger[edit]

It has been suggested to merge this article with that on the Older Parthenon. That makes no sense, as the two buildings are not identical and not even in the same location. The old temple of Athena can be seen on the Acropolis today (its foundations, that is), whereas the Older Parthenon, much less well-understood, was located underneath the location of the present Parthenon. Merging the articles would result in a single article describing two entirely separate structures. athinaios | Talk 06:53, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
