In this backwater Florida town of Okahumpka a racist sheriff is king [1957]. Swaggering, mean-spirited and hateful Sheriff McCall is the embodiment of bigotry at its ugliest. In contrast a committed, relentless and civil rights minded female reporter never stops trying to right a grim wrong. Naturally, the KKK terrorizes her but is unable to prevent her from pursuing her cause.
