Long term ecological consequences of oil boom?[edit]

I'm just wondering whether there have been long term consequences from the 1860s oil boom? I've included an 1866 photo of Benninghoff Run, likely a tributary, to underline my question.

Photo and textbox formatting needs to be reviewed and improved[edit]

This article has developed an increasingly cluttered look over the last several years that makes it difficult to read, particularly for people with visual impairments. At least one photo and the long Infobox appear to violate Wikipedia's Manual of Style/Accessibility standards which urge editors to "Avoid placing images on the left hand side as a consistent left hand margin makes reading easier" and "Avoid sandwiching text between two images or, unless absolutely necessary, using fixed image sizes." At this point, the photo needs to be removed or repositioned in an image gallery in order to bring the article back into compliance with the MOS and make it more accessible for Wikipedia users with visual impairments. I simply eliminated one photo, which was just a different railroad bridge in a similar scene as the one in the infobox. That photo added little of interest. The article still looks awkward because the long infobox and the table of tributaries cannot wrap around each other. This is more of an issue with Wikipedia's design standards and requires a higher solution. I've seen this problem in many articles about rivers, state forests, protected areas, and the like. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 16:10, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
