Office actions are not limited to trademarks--patent examiners also issue office actions.

Merger proposal[edit]

This page doesn't appear to be substantive enough to stand on its own. The patent bit could easily be incorporated into patent prosecution (if deemed appropriate or even necessary), and if there doesn't appear to be a need for a separate article for trademark prosecution, then the trademark bit could be a sentence or two added to Trademark#Establishing trademark rights. Either way, an office action is a small part of the process of prosecuting either a patent or a trademark and might not warrant its own article. CDills(talk) 04:48, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with a redirect.--Nowa (talk) 19:36, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There is more that can be said about the formal parameters surrounding office actions (deadlines to issue and respond, second office actions, final office actions, appeals therefrom). bd2412 T 04:16, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
