Fair use rationale for Image:Om community.png[edit]

Image:Om community.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Cleanup & alignment with Wiki standards[edit]

I think it's high time we clean up this page. Some valid concerns raised regarding content, which I hope to address, either myself or by soliciting participation from the community.

IMHO, it's important to draw a distinction between the OM Festival and the OM reunion project, as well as between SumKidz and Suma. While there are a few core organizers who continued to provide support (mentoring, guidance and direct involvement), both the events and group are distinct. This is alluded to, but the use of photos from 2007 muddy the waters. I will have to dig into the vault to find some images and have them posted under creative commons.

While I agree the language of the post is somewhat biased in favour of the festival, please help me point out the weasel words so I can find a better, more genuine and fact-based approach.

Finding references to cite from 1998 - 2004 will be challenging, but I guess will help shape the content.

here are some: ^[1] - press release regarding Andy Hughes (of the Orb) being confirmed for OM 2000's prime time (which I enjoyed thoroughly) (searching through the NOW archive - will look through other publications later) ^[2] - fashion, marketplace ^[3] - IV lounge regular hangouts frequented by OM folks ^[4] - spoken word, relationship with M-Do, Toronto Tabla Ensenble and Ritesh Das ^[5] - mention by Matt Galloway in 2003. Maybe he would be a good person to get some ideas for content from ^[6] - piece about Julia "Butterfly" Hill ^[7] - response by Heidi Eisenhauer, former SumKidz member, co-founder of the Kind Kitchen community kitchen that served the festival and continues on to serve the Om Reunion Project under the leadership of Silas ^[8] - poetic recollection of OM 2003 ^[9] - opinion about integrity ^[10] - opinion about inclusivity (exclaim) ^[11] ^[12] ^[13] (laser FX site) ^[14] ^[15] (posts that show the DJ lineups, etc) ^[16] - mostly by Bethany Hope Wilson

The sources you list here mention the festival (reviews of performers or DJ lists etcetera), but the content of the article itself needs further corroboration from sources in order to meet Wikipedia standards of verifiability. Remember, press releases and letters to the editor are not considered acceptable sources. Good luck - it's an interesting festival and hopefully the article can be cleaned up and properly sourced.
