"Feel"[edit]

Not that I necessarily am at all qualified to write it, but I think "Feel" from this album almost certainly deserves an article. - Jmabel | Talk 05:42, 14 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds interesting - if you think it meets the notability guideline for songs, why not start an article, and hopefully others can add to it - let's see what develops! PL290 (talk) 05:40, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I quite agree! Gcampbel (talk) 09:58, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Month of release?[edit]

I'm trying to pin down the month of release for both of the first two Big Star albums. Published accounts vary (also true for Radio City, alas). For #1 Record, Jovanovic's book says "June 1972." George-Warren's bio of Chilton says "September 1972," which seems too late to me. The cover of the original #1 Record release says "April 1972" on the back, which may be the source of the date that appeared in an earlier version of this Wikipedia article. The July 1, 1972 issue of Billboard reported "Big Star is doing an album at Ardent for Stax" which would indicate that the June 1972 date is probably wrong. The first single was mentioned in "Singles Picks" and the album first appeared in "FM Action" in the August 26, 1972 issue of Billboard. There was a full page ad for the album and single in the Sept. 2 issue of Billboard and the album was reviewed in the Sept. 9 issue. This seems to indicate a likely release date of August 1972. Radio City was featured in the "Top Album Picks" in the February 16, 1974 issue of Billboard so that release date appears correct. Piriczki (talk) 15:02, 17 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at George-Warren's book it mentions the same Billboard issues as above but comes to the odd conclusion that the album was released in September. The book wrongly states that the "FM Action" column showed two stations that planned to play it but that column lists stations that are playing the album. Billboard is published a week prior to its issue date so this again indicates an August release date. Piriczki (talk) 17:08, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
